英語の絵本

うちの１歳の息子のお気に入りの英語の絵本を紹介します。小さいサイズの自分でめくれるカードボード（厚紙）タイプがお勧めです。
The Very Hungry Caterpillar
エリック・カールのユニークで鮮やかな絵は、大人も楽しめます。
ちいさな青虫が、いろんなものを食べて大きな蝶になるお話。
The Foot Book (Bright & Early Books for Beginning Beginners)
スース博士の絵本は私の夫も子供の頃よく読んでいたそうです。
“The Cat In The Hat”は映画にもなりましたね。
“The Foot Book”は韻のリズムがとっても楽しいので、小さい赤ちゃんのころから聞かせてました。
Pat the Bunny (Touch and Feel Book With Plush)
バニーのふわふわを触ったり、お花の良い香りがしたり、体験型絵本。
うちの子は１歳前にピカブー（いないいないばー）を覚えました。
That’s Not My Robot (Touchy-Feely Board Books)
触って、感触を楽しむイギリスの絵本。とてもかわいい絵でいろんなシリーズがあります。
アメリカ英語では使われない単語がでてきて私にも新鮮でした。
Some Recommended Children's Books

Our son loves to be read to, I bet all children do. We were lucky enough to have my aunt buy us some excellent books when Mason was born, that he’s still enjoying now that he’s one year old. Here’s a list of some of his favorites, which would make great gifts for your child or someone else’s:
The Hungry Caterpillar 
| Brown Bear, Brown Bear 
(actually there’s a series of these, including Panda Bear, Panda Bear, What Do You See? and Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear?) — beautiful pictures by Eric Carle.
Mr. Brown Can Moo 
| The Foot Book 
— two fun Dr. Seuss books with great rhymes
Pat the Bunny 
| That’s Not My Robot 
(part of a series, including: That’s Not My Puppy, , That’s Not My Teddy, and That’s Not My Dinosaur ) — these are touch and feel books.
Colors 
| My First Body Board Book 
— recently, Mason is really interested in the beautiful photos of these books.
Keiki’s First Books: 
| Keikis 1st Set Sense It and Sense It Smell It — help learn Hawaiian.
There’s also a wide selection of Japanese books my wife reads to him. (I’ll have to get her to do an article about those.)
As I mentioned in my other article, we use the library a lot. It really cuts down on the cost of having new books. But the ones above, Mason keeps asking us to read again and again…
